At Journey Christian Church, we believe no one should walk alone after making a decision to follow Jesus. Every person who gets baptized will be connected with a personal mentor to guide them through Anchored, a 30-day devotional that helps them take their first steps in faith.

We are looking for caring, Christ-centered people who are willing to walk alongside, encourage and support new believers. If you love people and can give a little time, you can make a big impact!

What Does a Mentor Do?

Walk alongside a new believer for 30 days.
Connect at least once a week (in-person, phone, or text).
Encourage, pray, and discuss the Anchored devotional.
Help them take next steps in faith, like joining a group or serving.

Requirements to Be a Mentor

A growing relationship with Jesus Christ.
Regular involvement at Journey Christian Church.
Willingness to encourage and pray for others.
 Able to commit to connecting weekly for 30 days.

Mentor Commitments

Reach out within 48 hours of being assigned a mentee.
Meet or connect weekly (4x over 30 days).
Encourage and listen, not just teach.
Complete a brief online training (15 minutes).
Communicate any needs or concerns to church leadership.
