Worship is at the very center of who we are and what we were created to do and we’re creating more frequent opportunities to gather in worship. Beginning Thursday, August 20, some of our regular Thursday services will become Nights of Worship. We want our entire church family there. So if you normally attend on Thursday, join us again on Sunday. If Sunday is usually your service, make that Thursday a priority too—and invite someone to come with you!
When we serve, we use the gifts and talents God has given us to support the church community and help meet the needs of others. By serving faithfully, we reflect the example of Jesus, who came not to be served but to serve, inspiring others through our actions and demonstrating God's love in practical ways.
Life is better together. Scripture calls us to it plainly: "And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together… but encouraging one another" (Hebrews 10:24–25). Everyone needs a place to grow, and everyone needs people to grow with. At Journey, that place comes in three lanes: Life Groups for connection, Courses for growth, and Support Groups for care. Support Groups registration is open now and Life Groups and Courses registration opens August 16. Groups begin meeting the week of August 30.
We don’t just give to fund everything at the church. First and foremost, we give out of obedience.It’s a reminder that everything we have is ultimately the Lord’s. We give because God has so richly given to us. Which means giving is a form of worship. To see all the ways to give go HERE.
We don’t want to be a church that believes in prayer, we are a church dependent on prayer. Here are few things we are asking you to life up to the Lord in prayer.
• Pray for every person at Journey to take their next step towards Jesus. We long to see the lost to find grace. Pray for open eyes, soft hearts and a powerful work of the Holy Spirit in their lives. Lift up initiatives like Starting Point and Discovery Your Journey to help people grow in their walk with Jesus.
• Pray for our leaders as they discern the vision and future of the church. Ask the Lord for boldness, clarity, and kingdom focus as we continue to advance the gospel. We believe that Journey is God’s church and we want to follow wherever He leads us.
• Pray for the heart of our church. As we prepare for our new Nights of Worship, ask the Lord that we would be a people who worship in Spirit and Truth! Lift up the people who may visit for the first time and experience Jesus in a way that opens their hearts to a relationship with Him.
• Pray for how God will use you. Church was never meant to be consumed. It was always meant to be a body where every person plays a vital role. Where is God calling you to use your gifts, your talents and your resources for the Kingdom? Ask God for your next step in following Jesus as your Lord and Savior.
