Raising Up The Next Generation
Is God calling you towards ministry? Join us this summer as a Journey Student Apprentice!
The Journey Student Apprenticeship is designed to help the next generation of church leaders grow personally, spiritually, and professionally. We believe that you were created on purpose, and for a purpose! Allow us to come alongside you as a High School student to learn what you were created for, and what your next steps in ministry look like to get there.
Through the Journey Student Apprenticeship, you will receive hands on ministry experience as well as opportunities to learn and lead alongside our incredibly talented staff. You can expect to be challenged, but even more importantly, you can expect to be loved well as part of the Journey family.

AREAS OF MINISTRY TRAINING
Children's Ministry
Our Journey Kids Ministry is designed for children to experience age-appropriate biblical teaching, worship through music, and experience fun activities designed to introduce children to a life-changing journey with Jesus. As a Journey Kids Apprentice, you will have the opportunity to build prevailing church culture, form volunteer teams, plan and execute strategic events, and learn to create an environment where kids can thrive in their relationship with Jesus, no matter their age.
Student Ministry
Journey Students Ministry exists to make disciples of Jesus who Love God, Love People, and Serve the World. If you have a heart to help middle and high school-aged students learn, embrace, and share the Gospel, this is the experience for you! As a Journey Students Apprentice, you will have the opportunity to learn practical and powerful ministry - from preparing events to execution of services or developing leaders and everything in between - this residency track will equip you for the long haul in vocational ministry.
Connections
Our connections team is an army of fun, friendly, and engaging volunteers. If you love welcoming people or simply love to smile, then the connections team is definitely a perfect fit for you! As a Connections Apprentice, you'll be the first impression for those coming to Journey Christian Church. You'll work with a team of volunteers to create a welcoming environment for our guests by offering a kind greeting and acknowledging everyone as they enter the campus.
Worship Ministry
Our Journey Worship Apprenticeship is designed for young leaders who feel called to lead worship in the local church. You will experience worship with our Student Ministry along with our main worship experiences. You’ll collaborate with our team in service planning, lead and develop volunteer teams, and oversee the execution of dynamic weekly worship experiences. Additionally, you’ll provide pastoral care for your worship and production volunteers. You’ll gain hands-on experience in worship environments and weekly ministry services, equipping you for impactful leadership in the local church.
Production/Tech
At the heart of Journey Christian Church, our Production Team stands as a beacon of excellence, illuminating Journeys mission through their expertise in audio, visual, lighting and broadcasting. As an apprentice, you will walk the path of ministry, side by side with this dedicated team, pursuing an unwavering commitment to excellence, and creating worship experiences free from distraction. Our mission extends far beyond technical expertise; your role will be to inspire and guide volunteers, empowering them to channel their talents to bring people closer to God.
Communications
Communications plays a pivotal role in promoting meaningful connections within our church, reaching the lost, and making Jesus famous. As a Communications Apprentice, you'll learn how to leverage digital platforms and social media to expand the church's outreach, best practices for content creation (copywriting, graphic design, and video), the strategic planning and marketing of events, as well as develop skills to help internal communication with staff and volunteer teams.
