Local Missions

Their Mission:

Serving Orlando and Ocoee homeless meals, legal aid, and counseling; short term family living services, and work training programs.

Major Needs:

Volunteers to serve meals; pantry and clothing drives; preparing and serving meals to Fresh Start.

Christian Service Center for Central Florida

Habitat for Humanity of Greater Apopka

Their Mission:

Building decent, affordable housing and hope for those in need in the Apopka community. Demonstrate the love and teaching of Jesus Christ. Partner with Churches, volunteers and community institutions to succeed.

Major Needs:

Volunteers to help on home construction sites (skilled and unskilled); volunteers to help in operations and administration (office, committee members, church relations, board members, loan selection, permits, home store, fund raising, etc.); financial assistance (cash and in-kind gifts).

Lake Aurora Christian Assembly, Inc.

Their Mission:

Provide Christian education camping experiences for youth and adults.

Major Needs:

Camp counselors; camp nurses; kitchen help (May—August and retreat season); camp maintenance, repairs, and light construction at scheduled work days.

Florida Blood Center

Their Mission:

Develop and maintain donated, healthy blood supply.

Major Needs:

Healthy blood donors.

Loaves & Fishes, Inc.

Their Mission:

To provide food, clothing, Bible study, and other services to residents who have need in the Apopka area.

Major Needs:

Loaves & Fishes needs volunteers for projects ranging from answering phones to re-mulching a parking lot. They provide excellent opportunities to give back to your local community.

Orlando Union Rescue Mission

Major Needs:

This mission needs volunteers for the following: office help, kitchen service (serving meals, cleaning, stock room), laundering; repair/maintenance; Family Life Center (day care, student/youth activities, sorting books, sewing, exercise class, entertaining); Christmas gifts.

Missions
